John F. Turben
Senior Managing Partner and Chairman

John "Jack" Turben founded Chagrin Valley Company, Ltd., Kirtland's predecessor firm, in 1977. From 1968 to 1974, he served as Chairman of the Executive Committee and Vice Chairman of the Board of Prescott, Ball & Turben, an investment banking firm headquartered in Cleveland. Prior to founding Chagrin Valley, Jack was Chairman of the Executive Committee and a Director of the Geneve Corp., a private equity firm founded to make control investments in middle-market manufacturing and service companies. Jack currently serves as Chairman of the Board of PVC Container Corporation and is a Director of NACCO Industries, Inc., Lake Erie College, MAGNET Manufacturing Advocacy & Growth Network and the Fund for Our Economic Future. Jack is a member of the Board of Trustees and is the former President of the Board of Trustees of University School, former Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Lake Erie College, and is Mayor of Kirtland Hills, Ohio. Jack is a graduate of Yale University.
