Jim Garrison is the former president and chief executive officer of Instron Corporation. Prior to that, he was the president, chief executive officer and an owner of H&R 1871, Inc., where he managed its turnaround from an organization on the verge of liquidation into a highly profitable company. Previously, Jim served as vice president, chief operating officer and chief financial officer of Allied Industrial Products, a major division of Allied Signal with annual sales in excess of $1 billion.

Before starting his business career, Jim spent eight years with the government, including a position as deputy associate director of the Organizational and Special Studies Division of the OMB during the Nixon and Ford administrations.

He is a trustee of Mt. Wachusett Community College and is chairman of the supervisory (audit) committee of GFA Federal Credit Union. Jim is a retired U.S. Navy commander and received his MBA from the Wharton Graduate School at the University of Pennsylvania.
